Peer beneath the duff of the forest floor and you’ll see decay - and from that decay comes new growth. This pendant calls to mind slime molds and fungi growing from decaying wood, featuring real sage green and orange cup lichen in a teardrop cabochon, set in a fine silver bezel setting.
Four hand fabricated toadstools grow from behind the pendant to either side of the stone, as though peeking out from behind a log. A loop of hammer textured bark sterling silver encircles the piece, creating a window into the natural world. The hand applied black patina accentuates each hammer mark.
A bale with two jump rings holds a 20” long stainless steel 1.5mm ball chain that is included with this pendant. The back of the pendant has a hand etched mycorrhizal network extending from each mushroom.
This pendant was created completely by hand from silver sheet and wire using traditional silversmithing techniques.
Pendant will arrive in a translucent box, nestled in ethically foraged forest ephemera, and carefully packed with recycled shipping materials.
