One of my favorite trees, Alnus rubra is plentiful in the PNW. It grows in disturbed areas and restores soil. “Red alder” refers to the color of its wood when cut, which is quite beautiful. 

This pair of alder leaves were hand sawn before their lines were hand stamped.
